Minneapolis

By now, we've all heard the news. JPMC workers have chosen not to stand silent on the sidelines. Read our statement and heed our call to action.

Officer Down: Secretary Needed

Our beloved secretary has stepped down, leaving a void that must be filled.

Please let us know if you or someone you know would be a good fit for this role by replying to this email or nominating on our Discord server.

Profit Sharing Report from Reggie

With bonuses and raises hitting (or NOT hitting) our checking accounts this time of year, it is worth remembering how much we have all made as a company.

Bank of America recently awarded $1 billion worth of stock to their employees as a reward for high profits. They are only the second largest US bank; we are the first.

Therefore, I propose a 25% profit share to be split equally among all 300,000 employees. As far as I know, no part of JPMC currently does anything like this.

According to the quarterly earnings reports, here's how that would've looked in 2025. The "Profit Share" column is what you personally would have received before taxes, either by the quarter or by the whole year.

Net Income25% of NetProfit Share
Q1$14.6 billion$3.65 billion$12,000
Q2$15 billion$3.75 billion$12,500
Q3$14.4 billion$3.6 billion$12,000
Q4$13 billion$3.25 billion$11,000
2025 Total$57 billion$14.25 billion$47,500

Compare that $47,500 with three other numbers: first, the amount of money you were paid over the course of 2025; second, the amount of bonus you received (if any); third, the amount of raise you were given (if any).

Remember $47,500 every time someone tells you the bank doesn't have money for raises or bonuses.

Think about the difference an extra $47,500 would make in your life. Even after taxes, that's at least $28,500 hitting your bank account. Imagine what you could do for yourself, your family, your friends, or your favorite charities if you had that lump sum.

Then remember that instead of giving you the money that you are rightfully owed, the firm gives the CEO and other high level executives (who are already set for life!) multi-million dollar bonuses and claims to have too little money for raises or bonuses for the rest of us.

It's time to get angry. You are victim to a grave injustice.

YOU DESERVE BETTER!

The JWA wants to get you what you are owed. Simply join our Discord to be connected with your likeminded coworkers and learn how to right this wrong.

Winter Themed Poetry from BK and Beth

Each night upon our trek through rain, or snow, or just plain cold;
with street lamps glowing overhead and mem’ries growing old,
of work/life balance being fair, of safety drawn from steady work,
of health care when we needed, and of raises big and bold;
nor did dreadful “right-sizings” ’round every seventh payday lurk;

The journey home allows us time to ponder rights and freedoms lost
amid this dark and chilly workers’ winter to the dragon’s ever-growing hoard
maximizing owners’ short-term gain regardless of the cost
to families and citizens and ordinary folks whose time and lives are poured
upon this tow’ring enterprise that is, with cursive letters so embossed,
as J.P. Morgan Chase, a member of the banking board.

As Earth upon her course must soon leave winter’s cold embrace,
let workers near and far join hands as spring’s fresh golden bloom!
Standing side by side as one with courage and with grace,
we’ll change the course of history: capricious greed sent to its doom.

This year we claim back what has always been ours:

  • Time for those we love.
  • Fair wages that rise with profits rather than dwindling through inflation.
  • The right to be heard clearly, not pushed off to the side.
  • A proper training pipeline, both for ourselves and our direct managers.
  • Freedom from pressure to sacrifice what is right for what is right-now.
  • Freedom from arbitrary treatment and weaponized “managerial discretion”.
  • Just-cause requirement for adverse HR actions consistent with Union custom.

As we gather close this winter, let us lift the lights of our hearts as one, wrap ourselves in the strength of unity, and give ourselves the gift of us. The ornaments of our hopes shine brighter when we choose togetherness.

Upcoming Valentine's Day Event!

As mentioned in our special announcement, we're doing special events around Valentine's Day in various offices to raise union awareness.

We hope you'll join in the fun! Contact your local chapter or meet us on Discord and we'll get you looped in.

Don't have a local chapter? You can start one! Ask us how on Discord.

Donations

The JWA runs on the goodwill, effort, and financial resources of those who donate. We absolutely do not charge dues, but we do have costs.

If everyone gave $10 a month, there would be resources for all manner of organizing and fun events. This allows us to grow quickly and bring about union contracts with raises for everybody!

That's why we're asking every reader to contribute either in person or via our donation page.

Think what you make in a year and divide it by a thousand. Would you really miss it, if you knew it would be used to improve conditions for you and all of your coworkers across the company? Imagine how it would feel knowing you've helped make a positive difference in the lives of thousands!

REMEMBER

The union is us. We are the union.

Change is coming. Be a part of it.

Excitedly Yours,

The JPMC Workers Alliance
